Installation

From PlantX.net

All of the services provided by PlantX.net use a simple utility called ConneX to install and upgrade the required software.

To download the ConneX utility, follow the instructions below:

- Go to the following connex.exe

- The “Opening Connex.exe” window appears.

- In this window select the “Save to Disk” radio button if not already selected.

- Select the OK button.

- The Enter name of file to save to window appears.

- Select your desktop as the location to save connex.exe.

- Double click the ConneX icon on your desktop to start ConneX.

Note: if you do not have Java 1.5 installed, ConneX will launch your browser and prompt you to begin installation. Follow the instructions provided. Once the Java is installed, double-click the ConneX icon on your desktop to continue the installation.

- Enter your name and password provided with your membership. If you want to run a trial membership, please call 888-575-2689 to request a name and password.

- If you are prompted, select the application you would like to run. (typically "Grower").

- ConneX will proceed to download the required files to run PlantX.net. If this is the initial install, this can take nearly three minutes on a standard DSL connection.

- When ConneX completes the install/upgrade, PlantX.net is launched and ready for use.
