Guide: Deleting a Catalog Item

This guide shows how to delete a catalog item from Inventory.

Start by opening the Inventory window. Select the Inventory button from the toolbar.

1. Use the catalog tree view to select the catalog item to delete.

• Expand nodes in the tree view to locate the desired catalog item.
• Use the Search Name to narrow the list and find the catalog item quickly.

2. Select the Delete Catalog Item button.

The Confirm Delete dialog opens.

3. Click Yes to confirm the delete or No to cancel.

• Upon successful deletion, the catalog item will be removed from the list.
• If the selected catalog item is used elsewhere in the system, for example orders, deleting the catalog item would adversely affect order data. PlantX.net will not allow you to delete the catalog item that other portions of the system rely on; an error message occurs if you attempt to do so. Instead, use the Catalog Item Archive feature.
