Guide: Adding a Material

This guide shows how to add a Material.

1. Click the Materials button from the main toolbar.

The Materials window appears.

• Same as the menu option Action | Materials

2. Click the Add Material button to the right of the materials tree view.

The Material Name dialog opens.

3a. Click the Search Library... button. (optional)

The Select from PlantX.net Library dialog opens.

3b. Select a botanical/common name from the PlantX.net Library.

Search for and select the plant name you need to enter. If you don't find the exact plant name, locate one that is a close match. Selecting a previously entered plant name will save you typing effort. You may find duplicates or misspellings; don't worry, you can edit the selection you made. Just select something close to save on typing.

3c. Click OK to continue.

The selected botanical name appears in the Material dialog.

4. Edit the Botanical Name.

5. Click OK to continue.

The material name entered will show in the materials tree view.
