Guide: Adding a Chart Account

This guide shows how to add a Chart Account.


1. Select menu option Action | Maintain | Chart of Accounts.

The Chart of Accounts window opens.


2. Click the Add Chart Account Add Chart Account button.

The Chart Account dialog appears.
  • For a shortcut, press the Insert key.
  • Optionally select Chart Account | Add Chart Account from the menu.


3. Enter a Number and Name for the account.

4. Use the drop-down list to select an appropriate Account Type.

Note: The account type cannot be changed after the account is added.


5. Enter the related QuickBooks Account name. (optional)

6. Click the OK button.

The newly created account will be added to the list.
